I don’t want to own a car
On a recent outing with a female friend, the conversation of me not owning a car came up. This friend said she would never be with someone who didn’t own a car. I asked why and she said that it seems like it’s better to own something and not spend money on taking a taxi or Ubers all the time.
I showed her how much I spent on Ubers for 2013, and let me tell you, it doesn’t add up to $10-20,000 for a car (if I decided to buy a new one), fuel, car insurance, maintenance, and a parking spot at my apartment.
Moral of the story: Math is awesome.
P.S. I picked her up in the Uber, of course.
